I spent the first 8 years of my career in Public Accounting and later as an Analyst. I knew early on this was merely a stepping stone on the pathway to finding my passion. I bought my first Parking lot in 2003 in the East Village of downtown Long Beach, sold it for a 3x multiple, and from that point on I was hooked! In 2005, I created 'LMDG' (an Investment Firm based out of Long Beach, CA) -- the company's charter was to find Value-add Real Estate properties. At that time I had no idea we were heading into the worst financial crisis of our time.... but did know that nothing penciled-out (which is why from 2006 to mid-2008) I was a net seller -- and by that I mean I only sold and did not buy one single property. I made good returns and by late 2008 I was BACK.... buying investment properties at 50%+ below replacement cost. Fast-forward to today and I have now transacted over $300m+ in Real Estate that we (Platinum, LMDG, & Affiliates) have held a majority ownership position. I am a Value-Investor I am a Disciplined Underwriter and have NEVER lost money on a Real Estate Transaction. In 2018 I launched our first LP Fund, which for the first time allowed LP's to participate in the equity upside of our investments. Capital came in quickly and I closed the fund at $11m of capital raised. I followed that up with a second LP Fund in 2019 raising an additional 11m of capital.
