My husband and I first rented our basement and essentially house hacked. We purchased our first rental in October 2016 and it took two years to renovate...long story. Since starting this journey, we had another child and that made everything change. Our "why" has gotten so much more elevated. We love Jesus and while we love to help people, we have learned it is so easy to squander all that God has given us. The next time around, we will be keener, more involved in OUR investment, stick to our systems, and never cut corners. Real Estate Goals: We hope to have rental properties that will supplement income and add toward retirement. We prefer to all cash, paid for homes over leverage. As inexperienced investors, we lost a lot of money and a lot of time. Our decisions were based on a pay now, suffer later approach. We were constantly in hindsight-mode until we switched to cashflowing the rehab did things change. We learned more and put systems in place much quicker. Currently Seeking: Prayer always helps! We don't know what we don't know. We are praying for wisdom, discernment, and guidance.
