I started in real estate investing in 1990 and bought and held 2 houses in Milwaukee, using my VA benefits. One home was a duplex. I lived in one unit and rented the other. It’s called house hacking these days. The other was a single family home, 3/1 with a basement. I moved 90 miles away from the homes and became an absentee landlord. Instead of going into foreclosure, I filed bankruptcy and let the houses go. Now, it’s a new day and a new dream. I have a very supportive wife now and she encourages me to go after my dreams of real estate success. I am now 52 yrs old and I see now that the retirement system in America will not be able to substantiate my retirement goals. Real Estate will be my main income producer if everything goes as planned. Yes, there is a plan, there always has to be a plan. I have been educating myself in Real Estate wholesaling and options investing for the last 2 years. I have read everything I can on the subjects that I am interested in. Namely Wholesaling, options and flipping. I met my wife in 2005, we married in 2006. We both dabeled here and there in real estate in some way or another. We both studied for a Realtors license in Florida and I briefly had mine in Wisconsin back in 1989. I let it expire because I was young, dumb and bulletproof back then. Now, my wife is studying again in Wisconsin and I may join her if I can’t wholesale real estate without being an agent. We’ll see how it goes in the next few months. We have a business entity called RE Options WI.
