I'm an engineer by trade, looking to provide cash flow in the out-years, 25-30 years down the road. I am a widowed father and my experience as a widow has encouraged me to reach out to find rewarding experiences outside my career path, with the hopes that they help me to live life to its fullest. I (usually) love my job as an engineer though and would like to work both ends of the candle as long as possible. I have experience in personal finance and investing in other marketplaces, and have done the math to prove to myself that real estate investing has a high likelihood of outperforming most investment classes. I have not jumped in yet, primarily because my positions in other asset classes either are illiquid or earmarked, but my plan has a SFR purchase in the works for 2017 or early 2018.
