Hi, I currently work in accounting at a CPA firm here in Sacramento as an auditor. I have always had very strong interests in investing (especially real estate investing) and after working for 8 years in accounting, I have decided that it is time to finally dive into the real estate investing world and begin building my portfolio to financial freedom. I have investing in the stock market heavily in the past 5 years and have done really well, so I would eventually like to to take those gains and invest in something more long term like rentals. It would be ideal to start my portfolio with rental properties, but I am open to all strategies to get started off. The ultimate goal is to create a portfolio large enough so that I no longer have to work the 8-5 accounting desk job. I already own a house here in the Sacramento area, but have never bought an investment property so it is a bit intimidating to dive in, find a good deal, and purchase my first investment property. So I would like to learn all the basics about how to start investing and where to begin. I also am interested in networking and meeting other professionals that would like to help guide me in the right direction. The market in the Sacramento area isn't the best to invest in right now, as well as most of California, so I'm definitely open to networking out of state and even start investing out of state as well.
