My husband and I bought our first rental property in 2007 in Denton, Texas. We had the help of an amazing pair of Realtors and fellow investors that literally took us under their wing to ensure that we had the best experience possible and would want to do it again! It took us awhile, but we bought our second property out of foreclosure in 2009. Major life changes hit us personally and professionally in 2014 and we sold both of those properties, along with our own home, and moved our lives back to the Northwest. The real estate bug bit us once again in the fall of 2016 and we bought three more single family homes in our new town. We started over! Spring/summer/fall of 2018 we flipped our first property with the help of a family member. It wasn't easy and the financial result was disappointing, but it didn't break us and I'd love to do it again if the opportunity came along...my husband, well, he's not so sure. It's the beginning of 2019 as I write this and, after 12 years of owning investment property (with a short break), we are ready to take our real estate ventures to the next level. We are ready for more!
