As an investor, I have tried a lot of things- Land Development, Flips, STRs, Commercial/Industrial and Multifamily. All of these things taught me to find the right fit for your personality, and not worry about what everyone else is doing. It is so easy in RE investing to get caught up in the latest fast growing thing to make LOTS of money, but it really is best to find what you do well and stick with it. When I was growing up, my parents got sued and lost everything they had, and I learned from that experience two main things: 1. Make sure you have sufficient insurance, life happens to all of us. For my parents, my dad killed a man in a car accident, and this resulted in losing everything they had. 2. Take the time to enjoy life while you can. There will always be another deal. Love your people all the time and balance hustle with rest. We are all walking each other home.
