My wife and I currently have 2 single family properties we purchased years ago. We lived in them and when upgrading as the family grew, we decided to keep them for rentals. That said, we never considered ourselves as being investors those houses were investments we could afford to have. Now we want to focus on adding to our portfolio for extra retirement income and something else to look forward to retiring to. I'm currently practicing on evaluating properties and plan to hold some and flip others depending on the opportunity.
