24 year old, newbie investor looking to engage in more creative deals. I've own one house so far (see my post) but I didn't really know as much as I do now going into the deal. I have more confidence and more capacity to learn and be creative with deals now. I am from Columbia, SC and lived there for most of my life. I have always been affiliated to the Naperville/Bolingbrook/Woodridge subrubs of Chicago as I have many family members that own homes (for their own residence, not investments) in the area including my parents. I also have spent several months trying to learn the Chicago market and lived in the Humbolt Park, Wicker Park, and Logan Square areas of Chicago for 3 years. I currently live in Atlanta for my day job. I am looking to invest back in Columbia, SC with properties close to the University of South Carolina. My target demographic is students and therefore I'm looking into places that have relatively cheap homes or multi-unit buildings in the area.
