I am a new real estate investor, currently living in the Buffalo, NY area. Though I am new to the world of formal real estate investing, I accidentally began house hacking in 2016 when I bought my first home and rented out the spare bedrooms to cover the cost of my mortgage. I didn't even realize that it had a name until I began learning more about real estate investing. I'm now looking to buy a small multi-family (and househack) to really begin expanding my real estate portfolio.
