I recently got into real estate investing after my wife and I found out we were having a baby. We decided we needed to move closer to her parents so her mom could assist us in watching the baby. I bought a house in Dallas in 2016 and put 30k into a remodel. We redid the whole kitchen, and all the floors and painted a few of the rooms. After getting approved to buy a new home close to her parents without having to sell this one to use the equity as a down payment, we decided to rent the Dallas property out. Now we are entering into the landlord phase. Ever since I decided to hang onto my other house I have been binge listening to Bigger Pockets. I'm glad to be a part of the community.
