Has anyone ever worked with EMC?

Hello everyone

Has anyone ever worked with EMC on a Short Sale?
I have a listing with an EMC mortgage. I’ve evicted the non-paying tenant. I have an offer that if accepted, will be the second highest in the area to sell this year.

EMC has been waiting almost a month and the only response is that they want more money. The trustee sale has been scheduled for July 7.  I got a call from someone a few days ago on a Saturday who say’s he is from the EMC Work Out Program and they need a $300 admin fee paid via western union in Texas. For the $300 we can get a postponement on the sales date. He sent me some paper work that looks legit.

He called again on Sunday to see if I have chosen to proceed, which makes me even more nervous. I have never met a bank employee that works on weekends.

Anyone have any help?

I have never had EMC pull that kind of nonsense. Sounds like somone is trying to scam you. Everytime I see EMC as the lender, I can't wait! They have been fairly easy to deal with. I would call EMC directly & try to locate this guy to see if he really works there.

You get a call on Saturday and a follow-up on Sunday... This guy should have NO reason to bother you unless he is ripping you off.

Find out who he is. Scammers like for you to move fast, before logic sets in, so remember that. Why would a bank get hyper about a workout plan? They don't care!

Just noticed that as well, Sunday is kind of strange, but a lot of banks are working on Saturdays now.

The western union thing is kinda strange, but banks ask me all the time for some kind of fee to delay an auction, countrywide in particular it seems.

EMC has never asked for such a fee though and is generally pretty easy to deal with other than losing faxes all the time.

You could try their website to search for him, or you could call their office and ask for him to see if he really works there.
