Buying International land help . . .

I am relatively new at land investing. Here's a brief break down of my history. I'm 22 and have had much success in actively trading stocks. I bought my first investment property last year and have just closed on it. I ran into some complications during the sale and was not able to clear as much as I had planned but still made out ok.

I have been looking into vacant land as a future investment (think 10+ years down the road). I have seen affordable lots for sale in the USA, but even more in other countries.

Does anyone have experience with buying international land? What's the process for converting non-residential to residential outside of the country?

Thank you
