Poverty is near 1960s levels again
No worries, Obama is on top of it.
"The most important anti-poverty effort is growing the economy and making sure there are enough jobs out there," Obama said Friday at a White House news conference. He stressed his commitment to helping the poor achieve middle-class status and said, "If we can grow the economy faster and create more jobs, then everybody is swept up into that virtuous cycle."

It seems the wars haven't worked out so well. The "War on Drugs" comes to mind.

Yes, there is going to be another war, but it isn't going to be a war on poverty. We don't have ANY poverty in the United States - not one poor person! Our "poor" people sit in their Section 8 rental watching Judge Judy reruns on their big screen tv while eating potato chips purchased with their SNAP card (food stamps) and occassionally chatting on their taxpayer-paid cellphone! THAT IS NOT POOR!
According to the UN, a person is in poverty when they're living on less that $1.25 per day, not when they're eating more than $1.25 worth of potato chips per day like our "poor" people do!
