whats a good origination name for this rei business?

I am trying to create website.

Real Estate Coach · Oakton, Virginia

When choosing a name make sure it is professional. You want a name that can work when you are buying, selling and in all situations.

I would choose a name like " something property solutions" or " something property consultants" or " something realty solutions" .

I would avoid any type of name such as " we buy houses fast" or " we buy houses in 7 days" .

Make sure your name helps you create a professional image.

Real Estate Investor · Murrieta, California

I was thinking of something professional, but then again I thought that WE BUY HOUSE would be good for people trying to sell there house.

I think I am gonna keep it professional.

thanks

You are welcome. You want your name to always be professional. Your advertising and marketing will have the " we buy houses" message, so sellers will know the services you are offering.

What I suggest you do is think of a few names for your domain and then go to http:www.register.com and do a site name check to see if any are already taken. That's what I did and luckily my frist choice " Region Real Estate Resource" was available. I suggest that you pick a name that has something to do with your niche.

Best regards,

Just keep it short and to the point.

Real Estate Investor · Baltimore, Maryland

Daniel, you should try to take all that info off your main page and break it into subsections. Its information overload.

They say most people only glance at a website for 5 seconds before either staying or leaving.

Real Estate Coach · Scottsdale, AZ

My site was a mess on the front page for a while, conversions are much better now that it has been organized.

Homeowner · Carrollton , Alabama

I know this may make it a little more complicated, but one idea would be to take 2+ words that describe your business (the less words, the better) and put them together. That's how I came up with mine.

Real Estate Investor · Baltimore, Maryland

galvin what is your business name?

Also, do most of you have 2 websites? One that you put on your bandit signs /marketings

Such as
We buy houses fast
800-555-kwik
www.kwikbuy.com

And then your actual business is " Something Realty Solutions"

Just thinking that most people are not likely to remember www.somethingrealtysolutions.com as opposed to kwikbuy.com

Real Estate Investor · Charlotte, North Carolina

yourcityhousebuyers.com might be one you need to think of. its simple and thats what people are looking for anyway.

Real Estate Investor · Baltimore, Maryland

Does anyone thing there is a disadvantage to going with a .net address over a .com? Alot of the names I have tried are unavailable w .com, but available with .net

Btw. - for those registering websites check out www.directdot.com a few bucks cheaper than register or godaddy.

Real Estate Investor · Baltimore, Maryland

When you guys go to REI meetings do you give out your we buy houses card?

Or do you give out your professional looking card?

Also on your we buy houses card, do you put any mention of paying finders fees for people bringing you leads?

Hey Troyce
I think you will have less advantage using a .NET and with the same name that is already taken in .COM. If the .COM is more popular, people will tend to check that out and dont be surprised if people come back to you and say that they did not any relevant information in your website (they would've been looking at the .COM instead of your .NET).

As for good offers, you can also check www.1and1.com - I got a website for $5 for the 1st year if I remember right or something like that.

In my opinion, there should only be one single Business card (KISS Strategy - Keep It Simple Stupid) :). As for the paying finders fee, I remember one of the threads in our forum where one of our investors was questioned by an attorney for highlighting finder's fee (of $250 or something) to bird dogs on their website. It appears that it is illegal to advertise finder's fee and rather you keep it verbal.

Finally, for suggestions on the website names think outside the box. The more you want to have Realty Solutions and Property Solutions in your company name the less choices you have. For e.g. Intelligent Investors (is already taken by some attorney if I remember right) would be a good choice to describe your business. Nobody is looking at a paraphrase of your business in your title. Give your business a catchy name and at the same convey what you are doing, subtly!

Jus my 2 cents.

Cheers

I think the domain name question is a great one.

I purchased the domain below without really thinking about it. I recently went back to godaddy and spent about an hour looking for something that really defined my niche.

I came up with two that i was really pleased to find available:

transparentagent.com

and

shortsaleblogger.com

I recommend sticking to a dot com and really thinking about what you are communicating to potential customers.

kwikbuy.com and getprequalified.com are both brilliant. With a little bit of thought, you can think of something like that too.

Residential Real Estate Agent · Kentucky

I'd go with 2 sites.

1 for advertising thats EASY/SHORT and a dot com.

1 for your actual business entity.

Real Estate Consultant · Myrtle Beach, SC

Many of you are also missing the importance of keywords in your domain name.

If your area is Miami for example, you will do much better in the search engines if you have Miami in your domain name as well.

As far as how to go about creating the name, I have seen many successful hyphenated domain name (in this format:
miami-quick-sales (dot) com
although many people prefer no hyphens, like this
miamiquicksales (dot) com

I would definitely go with a dot-com domain though.

Good luck!

Is having realitysolutions in your domain too long? I like the way it sounds but something gives me a feeling people wouldn't want to type something that long in. It is America there are A LOT of lazy people...

Real Estate Consultant · Myrtle Beach, SC

I don't think it is too long.
And the word REALTY (or " reality" like you had heheh)
is another good keyword to be in there as well.

The word Solutions you can live without but actually
it might make it easier to find a domain name if you leave if there.

BTW...a lot of people actually do mis-type realty as reality so
you can get traffic using that term too.
Just a little tidbit I noticed along the way.

Adam

Haha oh god I didn't even notice I did that. Long day of work... I guess it does say exactly what you are looking to do. I have been looking into websites a bit because I plan to start REI after the school year doing Wholesaling and Rent/hold, so I figure it is a good thing to start looking at.
