I have a lot of interests - most notably real estate, sustainable living, and technology.

I've been investing in real estate for about 6 mos seriously, focusing on short sales. Still trying to get my business to take off here in STL; its tough to say the least. Being partners with family doesn't make anything any easier either. But I love them and one day we'll make it happen big.

Experience

I was a loan originator until the market crashed, but I really disliked doing all that work for what seemed like so little money!

Started doing short sales Feb 2009 and still haven't closed a deal! We have had only 7 or 8 deals, which is probably the reason none have closed - we just didn't get enough going! Plus, 2 of them were with BOA and 2 have been with Chase, neither company is very efficient in my limited experience.

Real Estate Goals

My wife I and have a 5-6 year goal of owning several(3 or 4 or more) multi-unit complexes(up to 8 or 12 units?) We plan on doing green rehabs on all of these buildings. We are very passionate about doing what we can to improve life on Earth - i know, that sounds cheesy but its the truth.

Shorter term goals would be

1. Closing my first short sale!
2. Closing more short sales!
3. Learning Subject-To investing and doing those deals.

I'd be the happiest guy on the planet if I could make $50K in 2010 from investing! I know its not much and can be done so I am excited about it. In 2-3 years I'd like to be earning $50K/mo or more.

Currently Seeking

I am moving to Portland, OR from St. Louis, MO in March 2010. I have never been there, but my wife and I are very excited about moving our family there.

So, I am looking for HELP! I'm looking for information and I know there is a ton of it here. I need to know how to get deals and how to close them. I need to learn how to network as silly as that sounds. And I want to learn how to run an investment business - nothing major, I envision having about 10 or 12 employees and my actual team of professionals(accountant, lawyer, contractor, realtor, etc)
