My husband and I have been investing in long term buy and holds for approx 5 years. Currently we hold 22 doors, some are 100% ours, some w mortgages from banks, a few with JV partners and mortgages.

Most of our rental properties in the last year have been in Moose Jaw, SK - where we have an excellent support team and the market is HOT. It s one of the few Provinces expecting to have growth in 2009.

The majority have been single family homes and a few multi family units. We are now focussed on multi family and have an interest in small apartments as well

Small houses, under $ 100 K are of interest to my 19 yr old son - who now holds 3 doors.
