I am married with a young son. My family enjoys the finer things in life like spending time together, and traveling.
There are a few things like the family we have in the area, my kitchen (I'm a gourmet), the community (Naperville is great- especially in the summer), and our church that call us home when we roam (which is frequent).
I buy property of course- for the cash flow, tax advantages, and long term appreciation. I am a fairly traditional buyer- I don't like a lot of the pre-foreclosure drama (Been there, done that, got the t-shirt). These days especially, it's just easier to pick it up at the auction, or as an OREO later on.
My wife and I both have businesses that allow us complete flexibility in terms of geography, and some flexibility over our time. Our goal is to generate enough rental income to give us more flexibility over our time than we currently have.
I found this site on a search- it looks very professional amid a sea of complete garbage, so I thought I'd try it out and maybe (hopefully) learn a thing or two from you pros out there.
