In 2005, Troy teamed up with Deb and together they formed the Richmond Real Estate Investors Association.
He left the police department in late 2006 to focus full time on his real estate investing business and to found a family owned general contracting business with his father. In early 2007, the seeds of the real estate meltdown were beginning to bloom and the downturn in the economy caused credit to tighten. Home values declined and disposable income practically disappeared for most homeowners. It became evident that general contracting alone was not going to sustain his family.
Although Troy still keeps his hands in his real estate investment business, he and his father decided to close down their general contracting company. Today he concentrates on investing and his work as the President of the Richmond REIA, helping investors obtain the education that they need to ethically operate their business.
In the summer of 2002, Troy married his wife, Rachel and together they have a five year old son named Mason and a baby boy named Gavin. Troy also has two older children - Christina and John, both of whom he also loves dearly. Troy and his family currently live in Henrico County.
