Hello everyone! I am joining this group in order to absorb as much info and knowledge as I can to help me on my endeavors of becoming a real estate investor! I am 25 years old, live in the great city of Chicago, and am looking to find something more out of life. I have had aspirations of being an investor since I was younger, but unfortunately I shelved those dreams to serve in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years and it just got put on the back burner for a while as I got married, went on deployments overseas, and concentrated on other things I had going on. Well, a few years later I am freshly divorced (my choice), my ex wife made off with all of my savings and I work full time in a decent paying but personally unsatisfying job. My credit is now garbage and I have no savings but I am confident I can take this adversity and turn it around in my favor. I just need some help. I am intelligent, creative and a hard worker, and living n the city I know there is a wealth of underutilized property just dying to be revitalized and I want to learn how to make this happen. I am open to all advice and am very coachable/willing to learn. I just dont know how to start. Hopefully some of you experts can help point me in the right direction! Thanks!
None (aspiring/beginner)
I hope to become educated enough to eventually(hopefully sooner rather than later-I'm ready to get started :) be able to start off wholesaling a few distressed properties within the city and build up enough experience and confidence to start dealing with multi unit dwellings and become a landlord while still pursuing as much education as I can and learn about lease options, etc to become a seasoned, knowledgeable and ultimately, successful investor.
