New to RE investing in the US. Purchaesd a new home in Riverview, FL as our away from home headquarters, (might as well live where you work).
We are hard money lenders but wish to be buy/rehab/rent investors. Looks like more fun!
Ten years experience buy/hold/rent. Currrently hold principle residence, two Tampa, FL homes and a partner on two Atlanta, GA flips.
Still considered newbie as we are from Canada. Our principle Florida home is our launch pad. It is new and fully paid up.
To acquire 10-20 properties in 5-8 years buy/hold/rent. Retirement is coming and this will be a great hobby.
Currently Hard Money Lenders in Canada with 12 contracts out there. A good second stream of income. We will certainly continue this on both sides of the border.
Looking for SFH/Towns/Condos in the Tampa, FL area, (and any other SouthWest FL locations to start). Need to get comfortable with the US business practices, laws, culture and taxation....need to blend in!!
LLC is definitely the first step now that we are established with a residence and bank accounts. No chance on bank credit here for us in 2012....cash only from up North.
