Top 7 WordPress Plugins for Real Estate Investor Websites

Akismet

This will keep you from getting Spam comments on your website.  If you don't use something like this you can end up with a ton of junk quickly.  Save yourself the hassle of having to manually delete it.  This comes included with WordPress but you have to set it up for it to work.

BackWPup

BackWPup is a way to create backups of your website.  You could easily lose your whole site by either hackers or a crashed hard drive on the server.  Don't lose your hard work (or investment) by not having regular backups of your site.  BackWPup is a free plugin that works well.

Another good plugin is BackupBuddy, which is paid.  Some hosting services like WP Engine have their own backup systems.  The sites we offer at Done Deal Website are backed up for you automatically.

Gravity Forms

You can use Gravity Forms to create your lead capture forms.  There are some free options out there, but for lead capture forms you're really better off with something like Gravity Forms or Formidable.  The free ones don't work as well and are a headache to setup sometimes.

If all you need is a simple "Contact Us" form with name, email and message, then you could try CForms instead.  But for most things I recommend Gravity Forms.

All around, Gravity Forms is a great plugin if you need any kind of forms on your website.

SumoMe

SumoMe, makes it easy for people to share your site and pages with their friends on social media sites.  It also has other powerful tracking information so you can learn more about how people are using your website.

TinyMCE Advanced

TinyMCE Advanced is a free plugin that adds extra tools to the toolbar in the editor area of WordPress.  The build-in editor is OK, but missing some features you might be looking for, like changing the font size, underlining text, etc.

You can install TinyMCE Advanced and customize the toolbar how you like.

WordPress SEO

WordPress SEO is a free plugin that makes it easier to handle SEO (search engine optimization) on your site.  It has some really handy features that help you get your pages optimized.

Another option is All-in-One SEO Pack.  It's a little less user friendly but works pretty similarly.

WP-Property

You can use this to list your properties on your website.  It creates a separate type of post for properties.  It's the best plugin I've found so far for property listings.  There are a few things about it I wish they'd improve, but overall it's good.

One downside about it is that it seems to take some time to make the listings look right on your site.  Sometimes the formatting is kind of weird out of the box.  When adding it to our Done Deal Website service we had to spend a lot of time getting things to look right.
