30 day deadline

Some people do not work well under pressure. I seem to thrive when I have a deadline and things are getting "real." To date, we have been in the property for one month. The demo was more extensive than estimated. We took down more ceilings and walls than we planned to. I put too much faith in several contractors. I am learning lessons daily!

The foundation work is underway- 2 days worth of work left on that. Total cost will be between $1,100- $1,200. No more wet basements :)

I feel like I have a ton of things to do... maybe because I do?!  I have been calling contractors and lining up everything. Some show up and some don't. One key thing: hire local! These guys tend to show up and follow through more often.

Keeping tight on the budget and running my numbers again as well. We have made the decision to not add two bathrooms. Financially it did not make sense and to adjust the rent to where it would need to be wasn't going to work. The area always rents quickly but the numbers need to make sense.

Knowing that it is a new month has given me a little wake up call. Time moves quick- and as the old saying (most likely from Lakein) goes, "failing to plan is planning to fail."

Constantly referring to my plan is very important and something I do daily.

Say some prayers for me ;)
