What do I do???!!! Help Please.

Hello all,
I signed up to receive weekly updates from a realtor( I was thinking of buying a house), well, while I did a search just to weed out foreclosures and short sales. I am a wet behind the ears newbie. While looking throught todays updates, I saw a few foreclosures one in particular is 23,000. 4/2. Don't know the area but from word of mouth area possibly in war zone. As a first, what should I do if anything.
