Newbie needs to learn how to structure notes as lien holder

I am Paul Wiseman - Busy assessing my options how to begin real estate investing. Am leaning toward mobile home investing following Lonnie Scruggs format. This entails being a lien holder and carrying a note on the property. I would like to know where to find a format on how to structure a note, and how to find out what is legal in Missouri. Thanks for any input.
