Do you think a brokerage would hire a 18yr old as an agent? I don't want to make myself look stupid... But I do see a lot of the companies with ad on Craigslist saying things like " no experience" and " will sponsor for license" . I will be going to college at night I just need a way to support myself

I really don't see why they wouldn't want a young and upcoming agent. Why not call around and see what kind of reception you get? I would make sure to find a place where you can get some guidance. My wife got her license strictly for our investing but found an agency where the broker was incredibly helpful in teaching her a few things. If you want it dude go get it.

We have young agents at our firm. As long as you show them that you have what they want your age shouldn't be an issue. By that I mean drive, work ethic, etc., All they want you to do is make money for them and yourself. Good luck!!

Do you have any savings? There are expenses associated with becoming an agent. Even if the company sponsors your real estate license you will still need to pay your Realtor dues, E&O insurance, MLS fees (I think there might not be an MLS in NYC).

You will need to drum up business and if you do get a listing you will need to advertise etc..

So thinking that you start and make money in your first year is probably not what is going to happen.

What type of dues and insurance would you need?...what is MLS and what are their fees? Im going to be taking real estate courses this summer...I haven't started investing yet still a newbie...just curious.
