Is this name too confusing for a brokerage firm?

Question

I registered the domain 'escrowbrokerage.com' a year ago and was thinking about moving out of the firm i'm working for and starting my own under this name. do you think calling my new company 'Escrow Brokerage' would be confusing, as I am not providing escrow services?

I'd bet you'll have insurance and finance regulators calling you to see why you aren't registered with them, not to mention the Bar Association!

In fact, you may not be able to use Escrow in your company name with the Sec. of State, many states limit implications of doing any regulated business without the license, like Bank, Trust, Holding Company, Escrow, Insurance, Certified Public Accountant, Legal Services, Financial Planning, Funeral, Cemetary, Barber/Beautitician, etc.

By the time you find a good name, you may need a shrink. Maybe you can sell the domain name to an escrow insurance brokerage.  :)

Would it cost you much to change the name to something associated more with real estate than an escrow agency? Seems like if you go out on your own and start your own company it would need to have a name to draw those interested in RE instead of closing documents. Come up with a name for your future company and then change the site to match your company name.

Have you tried searching Escrow Brokerage in google or other search engines?  I'd find it challenging to build a brand / separate myself in all that mess.
