Try to find used Whirlpool washer and dryer. Whirlpool seem to last the longest according to my local repairman. Two years ago I inherited an old whirlpool washer & dryer which wasn't working. I was going to buy new ones until the repair man said Whirlpool can last long time, sometime you only need to change a part and your good. Paid $400 to replace 2 lock box, service key and new washer pump. Both machine still running strong. He doesn't think energy efficient washer are any efficient and are pain to work on if it breaks down.
I do know that Home Depot will sell the Whirlpool Coin-Op but you have to ask the right person to look it up. I believe it is around $850 each. I inherited these in a 4plex for the last 6 months no problems.
Home Depot sells GE to commerical accounts. It is cheaper to buy it coin slot ready and set the coin slot for an extra $75. I think I got my from the bid room for 1400 for the pair in electric (three prong). They will be here in five days and I can tell you how they work.
Thanks Jeff, What is the bid room? Are you saying buy it coin slot ready at home depot or somewhere else?
Bid Room is the Contractors Counter. Anyone can use it but few ask. Just walk up to the counter and ask to get a quote for anything you buy to be put into the Bid Room. They send it to Headquarters and they send it back with a very large discount. In Colorado the quote has to be over $2,500 to be accepted in the Bid Room.
