ThinkPanama Queries and Quirks

As a new user I am very happy to be sharing conversation with colleages within the real estate industry at large. To the forum moderators congrats on a great job in developing the forum and your positioning on the search engines is awesome. As a new user I do have some concerns though.

When I was registering I had a bit of trouble with the form. Your captcha (the spam protection thing at the bottom of the form) said " who was the first president of the United States " . I of course answered with Hanson 1715-1783 (he was the first President) which as first President defined what all we call those occupying the Oval office Presidents, not King Washington which was the answer I was supposed to use to gain forum acceptance. Enough of the history lesson I am a Canadian national anyway so what do I know.

When I received my email to verify I came back to fill out the user profile and low and behold again I had a little hiccup. Since I live and work (real estate professional) in Panama, Republic of Panama I could not fill the form correctly because I do not live in a State. So I lied I said I am from Panama Wyoming. Now, I am not a geography major but I do not thinnk there is a Panama Wyoming but nevertheless I am here so it was accepted.

I do have a lot to offer this forum as my experience in International Real Estate especially residing in the hottest real estate market in our hemisphere. Is there any way we could have a thread for say Prperties down south like the thread for the neighbours up north eh?

Welcome to the site. We'll take your suggestions into account. Perhaps in a future update we can make things more user friendly for foreign users. That said, there is little debate who the first President of the United States was . . .

Hi Ed,

No, not at this time. We are primarily focused on the Panama marketplace however, we are an aggressive company and we are watching Costa Rica for any or all opportunities.

Panama, currently offers the investor the best bang for your buck Costa Rica on the other hand has a more established market due to its popularity over the years.

HI Paul, I need a little insight, what do you think of trump in Panama?
I have been following Panama for about 6 years now, I Like what I see, I do believe there is still lots of opportunity there. Hewlitt Packert, Catapillar, and One other major U.S. Corp are moving down, any insight would be helpful. Tom :beer:

Panama, is the hidden jewel of property investment if you have been following Panama, recent developments have catapulted the nation to prominence. Why, simply because of its demographics, tax laws, anonymous offshore banking makes the little nation an attractive venue for large, medium, small business enterprise. It is business that is driving the current real estate boom and this will continue for at least the next decade. Projects such as the canal expansion will take at least 5 years to complete so this makes the future here very attractive for real estate investors.

I actually grew up in Wyoming and my real estate activities right now are focused on Latin America including Panama.

Tom,
I noticed that no one had responded to your question about Trump in Panama. They are apparently doing great. Although many projects in Panama have had to discount to keep any momentum, Trump has been increasing their prices and is almost sold out. They are doing so well that they have had no motivation to wheel and deal like so many other developers. I definitely recommend it to my clients.
