It's a good time to get into real estate investing. I recommend reading thru the different threads of topics applicable to your situations. There's some great stuff in the "Starting out Thread".

I always advise that starting out....you become an expert in your own backyard.....i.e. know more about your local market than anyone. This will enable you to quickly identify good deals in your area. If there's anything I can do to help....feel free to let me know.

Welcome to the site. I am also interested in buying some rentals. If you are looking for a good book about the rental business, I recently read a book written by a BP member (MikeOh) titled ''1 Minute to Rental Property Riches'', which was very informative.
