Well you have come to a great place to learn about REI. I would certainly suggest keeping your day job or now and starting to set aside some money while you are educating yourself and building contacts. You have an opportunity as well probably while driving to learn and see properties in other areas besides your own this might be beneficial as well.

As your reading, write down your questions, search for the answers and ask when you do find the information your looking for.

BP is also a great place to network. You'll find people hear willing to help you get started and point you in the right direction.

Kevin, before you go spending any money on someone's course, try and find a local investor that will show you the ropes. In return you will need to do some grunt work for him, but it's a lot cheaper to work off your education than to spend your cash, and you will learn a whole lot more. No offense to Larry Goins, from what i hear he is a great guy.
