we've tried it for really low end properties and have had good results. you wont get alot of responses but the ones you do get should be quality.
its probably more effective if you have multiple properties and can cross sell if the one on ebay isnt what they wanted.
good luck
I have not had alot of good luck with ebay. There are alot better avenues than ebay.
I tried it several years ago and had minimual success. I agree it does work better if you have lower end properties and have multiple's.
I have found my own sites and craigs list to be far more efficient - but I think it is worth the try - it may or may not work for your area so since it is free (other then your time) give it a go!
I've browsed through Ebay's RE listings. There are sometimes a good buy or two; but for the most part, the majority of the listings are junk houses that won't sell anywhere else. So the owner or broker puts them up on Ebay to snag an inexperienced investor/buyer's attention who thinks they're are getting a deal of a lifetime.
Ebay is a fantastic tool for scouting for a new area to explore. I've found 2 excellent cashflow areas by perusing e-bay to see what people would be willing to sell houses for there. The houses themselves that show up on e-bay are inevitably crap - but they get me good info.
