Avoiding Fleas??

Question

Has anyone encountered fleas when inspecting homes? Itâ€™s been twice now that fleas jump on me and I end up brining them home. Iâ€™ve been able to get rid of them on both occasions but what a headache. Can anyone give me any suggestions to avoid this from happening again? I would greatly appreciate it.

Rudy, spray your pant legs and shoes with Adams flee spray, it repels and will kill them on contact.  Hope that helps!

Hilary, try the soapy water in a bowl with the nightlight, do it each night for 5-7 days so you can go through the egg cycle and get the new flees after they hatch. Easy maintenance, no chemicals, and easy to do each night.

We have that problem and went to the co op and got some stuff the farmers where using, it worked much better than the stuff from lowes. The hard part is breaking the cycle, house must be cleaned every day to get any eggs. It sucks and is very upsetting as the owner to think we have a house with fleas! We told the tenants to please tell us asap so we can keep spraying, but they seem to not notice, which seems crazy!

Use dawn for your soapy water.

If you have an interior flee infestation in a rehab, rental or your own home, the green way to remove the problem is to get a large bowl of water with soapy suds, place it on the floor in a room (the infested room) and plug in a nightlight above the water bowl. The fleas (at night) will jump to the light and fall into the soapy water which kills them.

I agree with Mary. Also, inspect clothing and body upon returning to your home. You could also put clothes in washer and dryer as soon as you get home
