I see Armando Montelongo from flip this house is coming to the Cleveland area. Has anyone went to hear him pitch his course before? Is it actually him that is there, or someone selling for him?

Armando won't be coming in person. If you'd look at the schedule there are multiple cities with the same dates. His pitchmen will be upselling for a later seminar. He may or may not show up for that one either.
According to what I read Armondo never shows up at these events as Craig mentioned. He just hires speakers to spew his worthless courses and coaching sessions in hopes that suckers will buy into it.
Do a search either here or on Google about Armondo. There is a ton of complaints about this guy both in relations to his material to his practices as a so called investor including scamming a GC out of some dough.
LOL@ stiffing the GC, when I would watch the show, all I saw him use were illegals. I was blown away that he would be so obvious on national tv.
Yeah, I figured he would have some hired guns sellin for him. I just thought it would be interesting to meet the guy. I am not looking for a mentor or coach, I have been in the game for 15 years and done a few hundred deals, but I would like to know how he landed the spot on the show!

This guy is someone you want to stay far away from in business. I have read and heard of many stories, some of which from the actual source, where this guy was crooked, scammed someone, or showed no integrity.
This is just another example of some guru DB taking advantage of unsuspecting individuals hungry for the "quick buck" which we all know is not out there, you must work for it.

He,probably just paid someone to help him film a pilot.
My mom lives in San Antonio. She cut out an article from the newspaper of a story showing Armando was indicted in Austin for not paying for appraisals there. If I remember right he was facing a felony charge and a couple years in jail.
Rob,
I read somewhere that this guy from the MD area got a call from the show- I assume how they do it is by being visible. The guy who got a call, has tons of videos on youtube about his rehabs and also has what looks like an active blog so its probably having everyone see you and what you are doing and then they call.
They also go through local REIAs. I got an email from a production company once where they asked if I was interested in having them follow me through a rehab. (I assumed they meant real estate.) The show was part of a series they did on one of the home/garden type channels.
Regrettably, I had just wrapped two rehabs and didn't have deal in the hopper, so I could not commit. Not sure I would have done it, anyway.
I know that a few people on this forum (myself included) were talking to the production company that did "Flip This House" about a new showing they are planning on launching later this year...
My team and the team of at least one other rehabber here on BP spent a couple months submitting videos, talking to the producers, etc. In the end, neither of us made the cut (we were told we didn't have enough drama in our business), but it was a lot of fun, and we made some connections that hopefully will pay off in the future (my wife became friends with the producer :).

Armondo Montogango... that made me laugh really loud for some reason.
I went to a free event in the Los Angeles area (1 year ago?) and Armondo Montogango did appear live and in person! Lots of hype and promises of quick riches for a low price of $XXXX but wait there are bonuses worth $XXXX and you get the entire price back after your first deal. Rush to the back now!
When I said I wasn't interested, one of his assistants said I was "hurting."
Not impressed.
That was several years ago. Those charges were thrown out of court.
I am not looking for a mentor or coach, I have been in the game for 15 years and done a few hundred deals, but I would like to know how he landed the spot on the show!
I have known Armando for 2 yrs. I took his mentorship class 2 yrs ago and have been personally mentored by him. I have even spent some personal time with him and his family.
Since you were interested in how he got on the show I figured I could share that with you since Armando told me the story himself. According to Armando, he and his brother David were already at the point in their business where they were flipping about 25-30 houses a month. Another investor that he had been doing some deals with was approached by A&E to do Flip This House. The other investor told the producers that he was not interested but that he knew of these two brothers that were very successful flipping houses. He also mentioned to the producers that they both had Hot (good looking) wives. The producers then contacted Armando and he received an application. They flew into town and met with him and he was on his best behavior. They told him a few weeks later he wasn't picked because he wasn't edgy enough for the show. He then showed them he could also be edgy by doing something and they ended up picking him. I can share the rest of the story with you via email. Send me a request.
From what I heard the up sell from the free course is in the 25,000 range. I don't think it's worth it.
Typical of a well run business. I'll take a boring day at work over an eventful one every time.
These "reality" shows, such as Flip This House and Property Ladder are more interested in featuring bumbling idiots than intelligent successful people that you can really learn something from. Pretty much standard operating procedure for Hollywood.
