Are any buy and hold investors in South Florida interested in forming a networking group?

I've been to a number of the REIA meetings in all three South Florida counties and though I see many classes and discussions on wholesaling, there seems to be a lack of networking for the buy and hold investor.

My thoughts are to met once a month, most likely in Fort Lauderdale area so it will be more central for everyone, no dues, not a club, just a networking event to discuss problems, strategies, etc.

Any thoughts? Any takers?

I wish I could make it, but my husband and I won't be in Ft. Lauderdale until July 6th. Maybe I could Skype in?

In the meantime, I highly recommend Regent Bank in Ft. Lauderdale, Tim Zivku loan officer, who I've worked with on a portfolio loan. They're a small regional bank and investor friendly.

    I'm not sure why either....perhaps because I haven't suggested a topic of discussion or a speaker.

    Anyway, I thought it might be nice for buy and hold investors to get together, network and mastermind a bit...see if we can help each other in some way and have some fun doing it.

    @George P. Care to meet for a coffee while you're down? I'm always game to meet to new people.

    buddy, i'd love to. we are staying close to weston, and the mall off of 136, but that isn't a problem, so we can get a coffee if you have the time.

    I'm a newbie in Miami. Just learning. I'm definitely interested in joining a group. Are there any group features here on BP or would it be done through a site like meetup or Facebook? The organization I mean.

    It should be a group of old and powerful buy & hold investors here in south florida but they just don't know about BP or don't want to participate! Either way I'm ok with that , REI is the way to go so I'm on it !! New guy too but learning a lot thanks to those that share their experience in this amazing website !!!

    I expect to get the networking group together in January, in Broward County/Fort Lauderdale area. I'm working on it...follow this thread for more info as it comes out.

    I would be interested in meeting with you all. I am a newbie and would appreciate starting out in a smaller group. I have been to local REIAs in the area, they are great, but a newbie can get lost amongst the hundreds of people there.

    Been looking for a group here in Davie/Weston area. @Buddy LaRue Did you guys meet yet? I'm a newbie and looking to network and share ideas on long term buy and hold. If not, I can help set something up.

    Only now seeing this thread and I would be interested in attending if the schedule can be worked out. I'm on every REI group newsletter in SFL and they all seem geared towards wholesalers and flippers. The one landlord association that I joined recently (Hollywood) doesn't seem to be actively meeting at the moment.

    I have another kid on the way and work at least 60 hours a week so my time is tight. I'm living in Miramar now so a Broward meetup in Davie/Weston sounds good.

    I'm in NJ, but invest in the Ft. Lauderdale area. My husband and I come to FL several times a year. Would love to hear more about this.

    Sure, I'm about to start getting ready to head to work but I'll look through my email and PM them to you.

    If we do get to meet as a group, I'm interested in how other landlords get funding for buy and holds. I'm at the point now where I need to start looking into portfolio loans and finding lenders who offer them. References on contractors, property management companies etc are also topics I would like to discuss.
