Does anyone have any suggestions on what mass email service to use that will have the most probability of getting emails to the inbox and not the junk mailbox?

· Las Vegas, Nevada

try constantcontact.com

I've used constant contact in the past and had trouble with it going to junk folders. Any other ideas?

I've used http://www.Icontact.com in the past and I can't remember ever having a problem with it ending up in the junk folder

Please answer the questions here on the forum for all to benefit from.

As for other mailing services, I hear great reviews for AWeber.com as well as constantcontact.com

Aweber is pretty good. They force double opt-in though, which sucks.

Very slick interface... beats Constant Contact in my opinion.

We use AWeber and absolutely love it, their webforms are awesome and very easy to integrate in to your sites.

There is an option to shut off the "double opt in" if you want to.

I second that. I've used iContact in another business with good deal of success.

I too like Icontact. They have several levels of service to choose from depending on the number of emails you want to send, plus some great html templates for making your emails look professional.

Personally, I have used both AWeber and GetResponse. Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of AWeber as it was kind of a pain to navigate, but this was years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed their interface since I used them.

GetResponse.com, on the other hand, was pretty easy to navigate and use. Not only did I not have many issues with mail going to Spam, but I could also tell who opened up the emails.

At this point though I am actually using a package on my server.

The important thing is not really which provider will minimize your emails from going into Junk folders, but more about what you put in the emails. One of the biggest triggers of Spam filters is the ratio of content to links. If you have a lot of links and little content in the email, you can be sure it will land in Junk Mail folders, no matter what service you use.

Also, if you plan on using html code (which I wouldn't recommend), make sure it looks appropriate before sending anything out. I know from personal experience that Outlook can be very sensitive to HTML emails and unless a certain attribute is checked (which is isn't by default), then you emails will look like garbled code.

So, when you send out email blasts, is it best to just send out text emails and not html emails? I get spammed all the time lately and most of them usually just have text with a few links to a landing page. Any insight would be great!

Hi Nate,

There isn't any best thing to do that works for everyone. The first thing I would look at is how you accumulate your email list. If you do it through an opt in system and have a targeted list of email recepients who want to hear from you then the junk folder shouldn't be as much of an issue. So really where you want to start following the trail is how you're getting these emails and then weigh out the pros and cons of text vs html.

If your audience isn't highly targeted then you should take the lead of the spammers and use text because when they open their mail and see X's where photos should be it's an auto delete. On the other hand text gets through directly and they are exposed to the message where with the html they might not see anything but a bunch of empty boxes.

Text is simply more direct and more personal and many of the guru's that border on spamish behaviors have taken note of this.

I'm a fan of html though because you can get the interactivity going and they're engaged if they are expecting it (opt-in) because they'll click to see images. When I'm dealing with people I know like my buyers list and investors who also know me I will go with the html for the engagement factor and it allows me to plug in extra stuff in an orderly fashion.

But think about how you do business and use that to guide you as to what direction to take. For instance when I get business cards and give business card I make clear that I have a dynomite mailing that I send out every Wednesday (REIA events are Tuesdays) and talk it up so they are excited to receive it the next day.

It's not just about what you are doing but also about what else you are doing to stack the deck in your favor.

Oh, I use AutoPilotRiches and it works just fine for my needs.

No offense but your stuff getting into junk / spam folders prob. has more to do with your copy then with the service.

yes - some services can be better but once your in the world of AdWebber / iContact / Constant Contact etc....there isn't going to be much different.

Need to tailer your content to get past the filters and you will still have some end up there.

Those who want your info will add you to the non-spam list as well.
