I worked on Wall Street for nearly 10 years, recently managing the real estate investment trust (REIT) equity research effort at BB&T Capital Markets as well as serving as Director of a $250M private-equity funded structured finance vehicle (Kodiak Funding, LP) that focused on investing in real estate-related companies.

Experience

I was a senior vice president and a real estate equity analyst at Friedman Billings Ramsey & Co., Inc., an investment banking firm I joined in 2000. I covered real estate companies on the sell-side with a primary focus on residential real estate (including homebuilders and multifamily REITs), and was recognized by both the Wall Street Journal and Forbes as one of Wall Street’s best analysts for both stock picking (The Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street” analyst awards) and earnings accuracy (Forbes’ “The Best Brokerage Analysts”).
I most recently managed a team of financial engineers and analysts to evaluate restructuring opportunities for Fannie Mae and provided a substantial amount of analysis to the United States Treasury and the FHFA as they determined the role of the federal government in housing. I began his career working in corporate finance at Charles E. Smith Residential Realty, a publicly traded multifamily REIT.
