Hi, I'm Bonnie: I'm an investor and lender based out of Asheville, NC. I'm a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with Fynd Capital, LLC, Founder and CEO of Blue Ridge Cap, LLC and also the founder of CBL West Real Estate Holdings. BP only lets you choose one "occupation," but the fact of the matter is that I'm a lender AND an investor myself. Life was much different when we started CBL West in 2016. My late husband and I wanted to build a portfolio that would help us retire early and create legacy wealth for our sons. Sounds common enough, but life has a way of reminding us that we're not as in control as we think we are. Fast forward 8 years and my husband contracted a rare disease. After a lengthy illness and a valiant struggle, he passed away in 2024. I thank God we had developed a real estate portfolio over those 8 years that allowed me to leave my full time job and be his advocate and full time caregiver. I was able to never leave his side while the real estate business we had created together kept running smoothly which was a blessing because I didn't have the time or the energy to focus on anything but him. My life will never be the same, but amidst all the heartache and the grief, I found that the one thing that helped keep me grounded and achieve some sense of normalcy was turning my attention back to real estate. The need to grow my portfolio and create financial independence and security has never been more important. I am primarily a buy-and-hold investor. My background is in heavy rehabs and ADUs. I've become a specialist in midterm rentals, which I absolutely love. In spring of 2024 I launched what was at the time the first virtual meetup for MTR investors - THE MTR Connect. This group has grown to almost 75 members and meets weekly. It's not an understatement to say that the community inside THE MTR Connect helped pull me through some of my most difficult times and I'll be forever grateful for the relationships that have grown out of it. I love serving the MTR community - hosts and guests - and intend to continue building out areas of service to this community including MTR coaching, a book, and a podcast all coming in 2025. I'm also a lender with Fynd Capital, a part of the real estate business that I find fascinating. Financing is so crucial, but it always felt like a black box. I wanted to understand more about the lending business so I became a lender myself. I love to work with clients to demystify the process and bring a creative eye to their deals.
