I'm a 29-year-old Seattle native who's lived around the world, started a couple of businesses, and done a lot of independent business strategy consulting. I ran a staffing agency in Australia when I was 24 and was the director of a 100ish person tech company at 25. But I ditched those because I didn't want a "real job" and traveled too much to have one, anyway (classic millennial, I know). In 2016 I moved back to Seattle to jump into real estate and promptly said "f*ck that." Not like a bank would lend 800k to a kid with no job or mailing address, anyhow. Then, at some point, I decided to take real action so I flew to the Midwest to go house shopping. I bought a roughed up duplex in Cleveland for $24k. I slummed it for a month or two while I fixed it up and now it cash flows better than almost any property in Western Washington. I bought another far nicer duplex later that year while still living in Seattle. Since then I've continued to buy more houses and duplexes. As of 2021, I spend my time growing the portfolio, business consulting, doing tech things, and traveling. I'm also a real estate agent in Cleveland and work with other investors who are following a similar strategy, but I am not your typical agent by any means. As a service for out-of-state investors, I manage bids, subcontractors, and the whole stabilization process for those who don't want to manage contractors directly or don't want to use a PM. I'm currently only taking on new buyer clients who are experienced out-of-state investors buying over 100k properties and know exactly what they want. Unfortunately, I'm not able to dedicate the time to newer investors who need help getting started in real estate investing. Currently Seeking: I'm looking for a multifamily or mixed-use apartment building from 30-100 units.
