I am a native Houstonian and an engineer by profession. I am interested in learning about real estate to build long term wealth, income, and an increased asset base from which to expand my investment horizon in the future. I have no experience in owning rental property. I plan to start off dealing in residential multifamily property in high demand areas near downtown and higher education centers. These properties would have forced appreciation potential. From growing equity, I would refinance and increase my asset base with new investment property. To build new experience, equity partnership on a property to property basis with an experienced investor would be ideal, however, private lending based financing may be more practical with my limited knowledge of business contracts.
