Alexander Sharp

I'm Alex Sharp, I'm 22 years old and brand new to real estate investing. I'm very excited as well as nervous about diving in, as I'm sure many of you before me have been. I read Rich Dad Poor Dad in September of 2018 and it changed my outlook on many things. One of them being my financial future and how the "Prescribed Retirement Plan" just isn't for me. Since then, I've read about 15 more books on real estate, real estate investing and books on changing your mindset and I'm always open to suggestions as my 9-5 job is as an auto body technician which, after you've learned your trade, is a pretty mindless job. I've always got an earbud popped in, listening to an audiobook, the BiggerPockets Podcast or YouTube videos from people like Graham Stephan. But I've seen the toll that my profession takes on the guys who've done it much longer than me. They've become desensitized to working 60+ hours a week while I keep counting down the minutes until I can go home. I know that I can't keep doing that for another 40 years. My main goal with real estate is to be able to replace this 9-5 so that I can have an opportunity to do the things that I want, not what my boss wants. I don't want riches or a luxurious lifestyle, I want to wake up in the morning and have the decision whether to go take a swim at the local pool or to go bike riding with my girlfriend and with help, I believe I can achieve that.
