My passion for real estate investing stems from my previous career in commercial construction. I worked as an Iron Worker for several years building high rise condos and luxury hotels in downtown Chicago. Since then I've never been able to shake the desire to take something old and ugly and fix it up. Fast forward several years later I decided to purchase my 1st home (starter home) as many would say. It had good bones however the interior was very dated and ugly. Me being the guy that I am, I said to myself... "I'm going to gut this place". Surely it was overkill but I wanted a challenge. So Immediately after closing I had roll-off dumpsters delivered to the driveway and began tearing out everything even the drywall... go figure. However, after living in the home while simultaneously renovating it my work came to an end. I decided to put it back on the market just 3 years later. To my disbelief the home sold for $90k more than when I purchased it! At this point I knew that investing in real estate was more than a way to make money... it's a way of life. My main goal is to invest in buy and hold properties but I'm certainly open to doing a few flips along the way.
