I'm married with two kids (21 and 17), basically getting ready to be empty nesters - which we are excited! Wohoooo!!! Older kid is moving to NC to start his new job, younger one has one more year of HS and off to college. So I've been reading and learning about downsizing, being minimalist and all that. As I was researching home properties prices in the Washington DC area, I stumbled into BP! And i was hooked! I've been listening to the podcasts, reading forums and just absorbing a lot of information to educate myself about REI. One thing that sticks to mind is the ability to just do it, get my feet wet in investing, avoid analysis paralysis. I still have one year before i can actually make that move (after 2nd kid goes to college). The plan is to sell my current SFH, buy a smaller home, possibly a TH to rehab and get then rented. And repeat at least once more. I am new to REI, so there's actually a lot of things that I'm thinking about doing including investing in student housing. So we shall see......
