Hello all! I'm in corporate accounting and have been interested in real estate periodically throughout the years. Until recently, the only steps I've taken regarding real estate have been personal. I purchased a mobile home when I was 20 and lived there for about six years. Personally, I would prefer to never live in one again, though this did give me a unique perspective if I ever choose to invest in mobile homes. I purchased my first home in 2006. Paid listing price and value has been dropping ever since, though has recently started picking up in the last few years. The bursting of the real estate bubble led me to do more research on real estate in general, which included many of those house flipping shows. I got divorced in 2016 and was able to keep my house without taking on more debt, due to a good relationship with my ex. I'm finally able to start looking into real estate investing, as no one escapes divorce without at least a little debt. Effective October 15, 2018, I purchased my first rental property with the intent to live in it while fixing it up over the first year. It is expected to cash flow nicely once I have tenants in place. I'm interested in a buy and hold strategy, with a target for under-served people in the community. I hold myself to a high standard, so it's important to me that everything I do is legal and ethical, as I'm sure is the goal for everyone else on this site. I would love to speak with individuals who have similar goals in mind. Thanks!
