We are excited about building a small portfolio of single family homes as a part of our retirement strategy. We are thirty years old and hope to retire in ten years. (Gotta have goals, right?) Experience: I began investing in real estate in Bozeman, Montana during college with a duplex. My dad had the foresight to teach us about rental properties by forming a family LLC with the children as partners. It was a tremendous learning experience where we also profited modestly. After purchasing our own home in 2012, my wife and I are now starting out with a single rental house in our neighborhood. We purchased it as a short sale , took two months doing an extensive rehab (down to the studs in many places) and now have the house rented out with a nice cash flow! Real Estate Goals: We want to continue acquiring single-family homes at a discount and turning them into cash-flowing rental properties. We would like to acquire between 10 and 20 properties over then next 8-10 years and aggressively pay down the mortgages in order to replace our incomes. Currently Seeking: We are looking specifically in the North End of Tacoma, Washington. We are targeting homes with three bedrooms or more.
