Hey Everyone, I’m glad I found BP and look forward to becoming an active member of the community. I have been a GC since 2001. Started with reno’s and quickly moved to custom homes followed by spec homes within first 3 years. I built specs till ‘07 then moved to VT in ‘08. The market crash lead me to pursue custom reno’s again and that was my primary business till 2014. My wife, daughter and I moved to Papua New Guinea for a year with New Tribes Mission and did Center Operations Management for one of the bases. In 2015 we returned to VT and I went back to reno’s but we had planned on moving to WI by 2017 and did so. 2017 - present we are primarily doing concrete in the summer and construction in winter. My business has always been relatively small between 1-7 employees which was a good size for the lifestyle we wanted to live then. We started investing in duplexes in 2020 and now have 3, although we sold our home and are living in one currently while using the upstairs as an office till we find some land to build on. Glad to have this group to learn from!
