My wife and I are buy and hold investors in Columbus, OH and originally from Cincinnati. Our goal is a "small and mighty" portfolio of residential multi-family properties to retire with. We've got friends in Columbus and Cincinnati who have all started investing in Columbus, Cincinnati, Athens, and Dayton. Experience: Bought our first duplex at 26 years-old in 2015. We have been improving the property over the past decade, refinanced along with taking out a HELOC. We partnered on a 4-unit property which had deferred maintenance and below market rents. We improved the property and rents and then sold. My wife and I then reinvested in a 2nd duplex shortly after the sale. 2026 Real Estate Goals: Optimize our current properties. Identify opportunities to increase rents over the long-term and reduce expenses. Currently Seeking: Options for refinancing a 7.25% ARM in the first half of 2026. Titled in a LLC. Been targeting 5.75% but I'm not sure if that will materialize.
