My current experience in real estate is not vast but I do have a good foundation that I plan on building on during 2016 as soon as I wrap up my MBA. I currently hold a real estate license in Washington State though I’ve only transacted my previous and my current residence. Most of my real estate experience has come from my experience with a family member who owned a unique building in the downtown of a small town. The building had 31 units on the second and third floors. The units were single room with no bathroom and only a couple hundred square feet. On the first floor is a restaurant and a couple small businesses. The family member owned the asset in their personal name so we took care of that and incorporated into an LLC. From there we got a PCA report done, eventually found some title issues that needed to be resolved, had to fight some unsubstantiated accusations from the county that we were a transient establishment due to a retaliatory tenant and all sorts of fun stuff. It was great experience and the whole purpose of taking that challenge!
