We started out slow with our first duplex in 2010, our next duplex was bought in 2016 then we bought another duplex in November 2017. Both sides were ready for move-in February 2018. We would love to buy a few more duplex’s this year so we are looking forward to learning as much as can through BiggerPockets and from those who enjoy sharing knowledge with others. So let me start with a little knowledge sharing of my owe. And that is to (never, ever give up). While in the process of buying the first duplex in 2010 we discovered that the side door had been kicked in and all the kitchen and bathroom cabinets had been destroyed to get the copper and the laundry room walls had been torn open for the copper plumbing as well. They tore a large hole in the wall so they could pass back-and-forth between the duplexes to get the copper and as life can go sometimes, both my wife and I lost our jobs at the same time but we knew we would survive this set back and that we did. After both units had been repaired and up-dated they were rented and started to turn a profit and now its paid off. We decided we like this business. Here’s to making new friends. Blake & Aida
