Experience: We bought our first property in 2015, a duplex that we renovated with an FHA 203k loan, that we house hack using airbnb. In 2016, I got my real estate license, helped rehab 1 rental property with my father-in-law, and helped 2 friends get started with their first airbnb rentals. I also started working part-time for Auction.com as an Auction Manager. In 2017, we purchased our 2nd property, a house that we converted into a duplex. Both units were Short Term Rentals, until city passed legislation banning non-owner occupied STR's in residential zones. They are now 30+ day furnished rentals, which have performed surprisingly well. Continued helping buyers find homes and investment properties, and continued working part-time at Auction.com. Also started coaching Crossfit classes at our gym! 2018 - we've partnered with a friend to lease a loft in Downtown Knoxville for another airbnb. To show the property owner we were good people to work with we renovated her kitchen and bathroom. With this property we were able to start building a team of cleaners and hire a manager to coordinate cleanings and communicate with guests. Still selling RE, and working at Auction.com. Still house hacking from duplex purchased in 2015. Still coaching Crossfit and loving it! 2019 - Purchase 2nd house-hack. Utilize HELOC's on properties purchased in 2016/2017 to do some BRRRR investing, grow airbnb business by 2-3 units (leases), and continue helping buyers find homes!
